There is always malicious spy-ware lurking on the internet, otherwise known as malware, causing havoc on the computers of unsuspecting internet users. Lately, Google has warned users about an especially effective virus that becomes visible when the user gets a giant yellow warning screen at the top of his computer. Google has issued instructions to users on how to remove the malware, avoiding malware’s ability to use important banking and personal information from the home computers of internet users.

Generally a computer becomes infected with a virus like this through an accidental click by the user. The people sending out these viruses are trying to entice users with a free music or film download. Other times, you check your e-mail and find a link that looks very much like the home screen of your regular bank or place you shop. It is important to verify that the page you intend to visit is where you end up. Otherwise, thieves use your identity to take out credit lines and make purchases in your name.

There is free software available to help you combat malware and spyware from entering your computer. These free programs, such as a C-drive cleaner, or anti-spyware program, are easily installed and run several times a week to make sure that viruses are not found on your system. When a program detects a virus on your computer, make sure to quarantine the virus and then drop it off your system at your earliest convenience. Consult a professional if you are unsuccessful removing a virus.

Al Gore, as you most likely know, did not invent the Internet. And, it’s not just a “series of tubes”, which is what United States Senator Ted Stevens called it. So who did invent the Internet, and what, exactly, is it?

The story of the Internet really begins in the 1950s, with communication between computers and terminals. Packet switching networks was being researched and explored. In the 1960s and 70s, this development continued.

The Internet Protocol Suite, which connected all the networks, was fully realized by 1982. In the late 1980s, commercial Internet providers started to set up shop. In 1995, the NSFNET was decommissioned, which allowed commercial traffic to run free, and removed restrictions.

Thus, over the last two decades, the Internet has been growing and changing very rapidly. Data is transmitted more and more quickly, and knowledge is spreading, commerce is selling, and so forth. So, who, exactly, invented all this?

Unlike the lightbulb and other famous inventions, one can’t easily point to a single person as the inventor of the Internet. There are a number of people who had ideas about it. In 1961, for example, Leonard Kleinrock (pictured) wrote a paper called “Information Flow in Large Communication Nets.”

In the 1960′s, there was experimentation at Stanford, involving Elmer Shapiro, Steve Carr, Jeff Rulifson, and Ron Stoughton. Naturally, over the years, many, many others made contributions to the development of the Internet, including Charley Kline, Ray Tomlison, Vinton Serf and Robert Kahn. The only thing you can be sure of is that Al Gore wasn’t responsible for all of it!

A lot of people give Microsoft a lot of static because of how much they ripped off from Apple and its Macintosh operating system. To many people, this makes Microsoft an evil company that will blatantly steal from someone else’s work, then make tiny changes to brand it as their own, and defend it as vigorously as one would defend their own child. However, this doesn’t make Microsoft evil- it makes them a normal company.

Computers aren’t new. In fact, there is evidence that the first device that could be considered a computer actually dates from the Hellenic Period of ancient history. With this being the case, every operating system is derivative in nature. That’s the nature of engineering itself, in fact. When you want to solve a problem, you find someone else who’s solved it first, and then you continually improve upon and tweak what they’ve done before you. When it comes to operating systems, once someone decided to upgrade to a monitor instead of just having some rotary numerical readouts and tape reels, originality became an endangered species.

The mouse was invented several years before Microsoft was even invented. Then several companies began to use it simultaneously, including some companies that no longer exist. Ultimately, the most technologically advanced companies were not the winners. The companies who could best sell their offerings to the mass market both won and prospered. When it comes to being a company that provides good jobs and easy access to computer software, Microsoft isn’t evil. They are just an aggressive company that does the same thing every company does in order to grow stronger.

The digital age has brought us many things. We have personal media devices allowing us to listen or watch and also store many different types of media, we have portable phones, and we have personal computers. With are advances in technology also comes the information age and of course the internet.

Consider these things when you are looking into the internet.

What are you going to be using it for? You can use the internet for many things and depending on how often you use the internet and what for you can find different providers.

How often do you use the internet? If you use the internet infrequently you can also choose different internet plans.

Where do you want to use the internet? If you want to use the internet at home you can choose a home based provider. However, if you travel a lot there are many providers who offer a mobile service.

What are the expected upload and download speads? This can be a factor that can restrict certain web pages and is necessary to look into when considering different providers.

If you are looking at mobile internet – how much do you use the internet? Each internet plan will allow for certain internet usage before they begin to change extra for you usage.

If you use mobile internet – make sure that if you are planning on traveling out of the state or country that your internet is compatible with your destined location.

The internet is a fantastic and ever changing thing. It is easy to get lost if you don’t do the adequate research.

Dell computers are some of the best on the market. Because of this, it’s relatively easy to find them for sale online, which will give you a number of advantages. First, you can do better price comparisons without having to actually visit or call different stores. You can pull up websites of places that sell Dell computers and check their prices.

Some of the places may also have “brick and mortar” locations, while others are strictly online businesses. Check several of each type so that you can be assured of getting the best price.

Before you start your price comparison, write down exactly what features you need in a computer. Make it as complete and exact as you can. For example, if you work better using a larger monitor than most users have, then write down the dimensions of the monitor you prefer. The same goes for the keyboard, mouse and other accessories. Write down exactly what you need before you start comparing.

Using your Dell Coupons

When you start comparing prices, you will want to focus on those places that will allow you to use your Dell coupon. These coupons can save you quite a bit off the suggested retail price, but if the store you’re looking at won’t accept them, then they won’t do you any good.

Look for any promotion codes or other things that you have to supply in order to redeem your coupons. This will make the “check-out” process, whether it is a physical one or an online one, easier when the time comes.
